Become a volunteer

As the Norway-America Association approaches its 100 year anniversary, we have begun to gather together the people and images that make up our association’s history. Our organization’s past is long and fascinating, and we want to ensure that it is shared with future generations.

Do you have experience with research, an interest in history, and a bit of free time? Have you been involved in the organization before and want to continue helping us out? If so, don’t hesitate to contact us!

Your work will involve finding pictures for the historical book we plan to publish and building an alumni network, in addition to other administrative work. NORAM is in possession of many interesting books, yearbooks, scholarship lists, correspondence, boardroom minutes, etc. which we hope to preserve and compile for all those interested. Did you know that the organization’s board was in exile in the US during World War II, or that while there they arranged a marvelous Thanksgiving Ball with hundreds of guests?

In return for your time, we can offer exciting reading opportunities alongside fantastic, locally-based colleagues. The work is on a volunteer basis during normal work hours, and you will have a tangible involvement in our organization.
